    Great paddle with the right mix of good company, nice weather, and challenging conditions. Large variety of birds to see. First rule of paddling, just go!!

    Is going without a spray skirt an issue given the forecast? I'm getting a little wary about it. I don't want to be in over my head. Last time I was there it was through marshy areas and along coastline. Is the trip more open on the bay?

      Spray skirt is a good option, NOT VITAL. The trip is inside the Bay.

    Hello Guys :

    I have just came from the FLOYD BENNETT FIELD and it is a wonderful place with many things to do ( Hiking, fishing, camping, archery and model planes field. )
    Here some direction to get to the Cartop boat ramp :
    * Belt Pkwy EAST ( Exit 11S )
    * Flatbush Av EAST
    * Make a left at Aviation Rd ( After the turn you will find the Ranger Station )
    * Drive 1 block and make a left ( Campgrounds )
    * Drive 5 or 6 blocks and make a right ( Campgrounds )
    * Drive 6 to 7 blocks to the end.
    * At the end, make a left and immediately a right and then you will find then sign for Cartop boat ramp.

    God blesses you.

    Andy & Victor - I worked in the rain all day and don't want to spend another day in the rain (the weather is being fickle).

    Hi everyone. Just wanted to make everyone aware that there are tolls to cross the bridges. The Outer Bridge is $13 and the Verrazano is $15. Therefore carpooling is highly suggested.
