What types of water do you like to paddle? (flatwater, rivers, open water, whitewater, etc)

Since I go solo- lakes, ponds, reservoirs, slow-moving creeks/rivers where I don't need a shuttle. I've had fun on faster water & would do more w/transport- but I'm happy gliding in the middle of nowhere, exploring /absorbing the scenery & wildlife.

What skill level are you? (beginner, intermediate, advanced)

beginner - I guess, since I have almost no experience w/ whitewater of any level. But I have a fair amount of flatwater experience - know how to maneuver my boat, read water, deal with obstacles, wind, choppy water ect.

Do you own your own boat(s), and if so what types?

I have an Advanced Elements, AdvancedFrame kayak.

When are you normally free to paddle?

Weekends, whenever. When days are longer late afternoon & early evenings. I love night paddling as well.

I bought a kayak this summer & have been obsessively going on excursions since. I haven't done whitewater & am interested...but nature rather then adrenaline is (currently) my primary incentive, so I love flatwater paddling for it's own experience.
