I've undergone a long series of dietary transitions for the past 20 years since my moral epiphany from eating nonhuman animals & their derivatives for the prior 19 years. I went from SAD to lacto-ovo to vegan & eventually learned about raw food.
I've been vegan since New Year's Day 1994 then learned of the assets of raw food in 2008, but it took 4 more years to switch to 95-100% raw vegan regimen.
I live in Owings Mills, MD, so events in the vicinity of Baltimore County would work but I usually go to VA for their raw food events more often. I enjoy potlucks, intellectually stimulating lectures, adventure activities, bowling, swimming in natural water bodies, world travel, reading books and following hot political issues. I'm also a devoted Green Party member with socially libertarian values.
I'm looking to meet other like-minded people with similar outlooks on life from whom I can learn new & innovative ways of improving my own health & that of Mother Earth, while respecting the natural biodiversity that makes this world so critical to preserve unadulterated.

"The animals of the world exist for their own purposes. They were not made for humans any more than blacks were made for whites or women for men." -- Alice Walker, Preface to Marjorie Spiegel's "The Dreaded Comparison"
Very friendly crowd of eclectic folks from various backgrounds. Most of the particpants bring uniquely innovative dishes and engage in intellectually stimulating conversation akin to a salon. My only qualm is the tendency of so many no-shows who RSVP'ed yes, then the turnout is far below what the Meetup notices would suggest.

Dave, It was good to see you and hear what you had to share. One Question. You mentioned Greenie to aid in reducing craving for alcohol. Was that green smoothie or something else? Thanks again Doug
It was nice to meet you at Matt and Debbie's house! Your cookies were delicious!
