Since I was a little girl, I have always been interested in Film/TV, practically sitting in front of the television for hours at a time, being fascinated by what I saw. As I got older, I started to get into public speaking and writing and felt as though since much of my interest lies within the entertainment industry, I might as well find a career within in it in some capacity. I would love to one day become a Publicist/p.r. rep for talent (actors, singers, etc.) and ultimately start my own P.R. firm. I feel as though this group can be beneficial to me in so many ways because of the vast resources that are offered within in it, in regards to the industry. This past Tuesday I attended the H.U.R.D.'s monthly meeting held in Jin Jeans' and I was very impressed and appreciative of all the information that I received. I also felt fortunate to meet with the other attendees and see others whom I have met prior to the meeting.
I was just an extra for the Curious Case of Benjamin Button. I laso do alot of promotional work for various companies and national conventions that come into the New Orleans area. I'm currently working on a promotion with Toys R Us and Babies R Us.
New Orleans is where I reside and that would be the best location for me to attend a H.U.R.D. meeting. I think that you all have the cities covered for right now, seeing as though most work is going to those particular cities.
I'm currently a "freelance"extra/actor, as I call it and I'm trying to possibly dab into screenwrting, but more on the commercial/tv end of it, writing for promotional projects.
I'm currently not a member of any union.
My name is Candace Jones and I am currently a student at the University of New Orleans, majoring in Communications with a minor in Marketing. I'm looking to break into Entertainment Public Relations upon graduation in 2007.
