A novel of the cruelty of war, tenuousness of life and the impossibility of love. "An immense achievement", "a masterpiece".
As voted by members, this is our March book. Look forward to some weighty discussions! Happy reading.

Hi All, so sorry I didn't make it last night! I thoroughly enjoyed the book and was keen to discuss but had a last minute drama at work and I had to stay on. Last minute dramas when you work in Parramatta usually ends up with all plans cancelled - I was so disappointed!
That's a pretty fair comment that you made so I can't do anything but cop it on the chin!!!
Thanks Madeleine for getting all the selections out last night; they look a very interesting mix of books so I will see you all in late April.
Glad that you all seemed to have a great night as well.
Have a great day,
Thank you for a fantastic read and thoughtful discussion. Great to have a nice & quiet venue too! Looking forward to some great reads coming up. :)

great discussion about the booking and planning for next few
Read book, was looking forward to book chat. Then alas, work emergency. Meet you all next time!
Upstairs with a wine - yay looking forward to the discussion!
Ha ha, Michael! I hope some of the blokes would also vote for the sheila writers. :)
Can't wait to discuss the Flanagan book tonight. I'm going to make a big call and say it is one of the best books I've ever read.
See you all soon!

Even though I have read the book, unfortunately, I won't be able to join you for this meeting.
See you in the next one.
No good Adam and I hope you feel better soon.
Looks like with no blokes attending this evening that Kara might get her hit list!
Have a great night ladies and hopefully a few of us will turn up in April.
Unfortunately I'm not well and won't be able to make it tomorrow night. Hope you have fun! See you next month.

Having not made it to book club for about a year - been busy giving birth and the like - I was determined to make it on Tuesday and have read a good chunk of Narrow Road. However, yet again my plans have been thwarted and I now have a clash on Tuesday. I will get there soon I promise! I look forward to hearing your selection of reads for the months ahead. Kate

Hey Maddie, Maybe Berkelouw Books is worth a try again? Yes, from memory Michael is right and this is the month we choose books again! Cheers, Adam
I think that the attendees will be selecting the next lot of books at the March meeting as at the December meeting we voted on the books for Jan/Feb/Mar.
Everybody now have a few days to get some ideas of what you would like to nominate so thinking caps on.
Have a great weekend everybody, have a great meeting on the night and I will see you all in April.
Unfortunately I have Uni starting on Wednesday morning back in Melbourne so I will most likely be an apology for this meeting.
Have a great night and I'm sure the discussion will as good as always.
