Meditation for Beginners

Meditation can be daunting if you have never tried it or tried it and not have success. Don't let that stop you! The wonderful benefits of meditation include but are not limited to:

• Physical level: lowers blood pressure, reduces anxiety attacks, decreases tension related pain (headaches, ulcers, insomnia etc..), improves immune system and increases energy levels.

• Mental level: improves emotional stability, increases happiness, sharpens the mind and expands consciousness

• Other benefits: achieve enlightenment, personal transformation and create harmony in life

 

This meditation is a guided meditation technique known as Japa Yoga or chanting with malas. Please bring your mala beads (or rosary or tasbeh- beads must total 108), a shawl and cushion to sit on for the practice.

Uma will gently guide you through the steps of Japa Yoga and get you into a deeply fulfilling meditation practice soon!
