Open Jam at Nitecap in Chicago

Note that amps, drums, P.A. and bass are provided (full back line), however it's not a bad idea to bring your own equipment just in case.

The key to making this work is preplanning what we're going to play and who is playing which instrument ahead of time online.  Keep an eye on who RSVPs and don't hesitate to reach out to that musician via email to coordinate.

From 8:00 until 9:00, we will have a brainstorming session to finalize who should be grouped with who, what we're playing, and to shape the movement (we're learning as we go).  Until then, look at the member profiles to see who you might want to plan some songs with based on the answers to their questions.  We will play the open jam from 9:00 on.

Click the "more" drop down toward the top middle of the page and then click "files" to see a file created to help guide you to your potential matches.  If there are already drummers, guitarists, keys, etc. listed under a particular song, do not let that deter you from signing up for it as we all won't always be able to be at the same meetups.

Also, do not hesitate to sign up for several songs as we are trying to find commonalities between members.  Being open to "jumping in" on some of the songs already listed can only help with the building process of each band.  It is possible for 1 player to be in multiple microbands.

Please provide some feedback!

Note that Rachel has that open Mic every Thursday and anyone can pop in. The Microband Movement is only about once a month so far, which is just matching up people and pre-planning songs ahead of time. Are you in for 3/7? Sorry to ask again. Just wanted to clarify so I can start practicing the 3 we've decided on and send out the newsletter.

I'm sure you can find a few takers down there for it. I don't think I can make it on Thursday, but you never know.
