Let's do one of my fav hikes to Lasky Mesa to take in spectacular views of the Santa Monica Mountains, the San Fernando Valley, Malibu and beyond! The weather should be perfect for hiking!
This is an out and back hike on wide fire roads with a short, single track connector that'll lead us to the butt-kicker part of the trail. But don't worry, it's nothing to cry over... Beginners should do fine on this one as we'll be going our usual moderate pace. Dogs are welcome on this one as long as they're well behaved, watered and picked up after.
DISTANCE: approx. 4 miles
ELEV GAIN/LOSS: approx 500 ft
DURATION: approx 2 hours
DIRECTIONS: Heading east on the 101 freeway towards Los Angeles, exit Las Virgines and turn left, going over the freeway. Continue on Las Virgines until it ends, right where the trailhead is. Plenty of street parking.
