This is a new one for The Moderate Hikers!
A new, sub-urban hike that's part park, part surface street, and part heart-pumping trail at the end, a perfect way to cap off the weekend!
We'll start off at the public library and circle our way through Conejo Creek north and south; two pretty park areas with lots of visual interest. After traversing some surface streets, we'll make our way through another, secret park that will take us to the final leg of our hike: a short, but steep trail to the top of a hill that'll award us with fantastic 360˚ views of the Connayo-rhymes-with-mayo Valley!
Afterwards, let's grab some food at Draught's Pizza at 398 N. Moorpark Rd.
All are approximate:
Distance: 2.5 miles
Elev gain/loss: 500 ft.
Duration: 1.5 hours
This is suitable for all hike levels except for the final leg of the hike which has a short, strenuous section. It can skipped for those who do not wish to attempt it.
Directions: From the 23 fwy heading north, exit Janss Rd. and turn right. Make a left at the stop light into the library, drive towards the back and park in the lot where we'll be meeting.
