Whitewater fun on the Kokosing: Part Two!

For those of you that want to do it again, or missed the first run down the Kokosing the week of the 16th; now's your chance.

This will be the second of many over night trips, and will consist of two days on the water. We'll drive to our cabin/camp sight to set up prior to hitting the waves. We'll then back-track to our put-in at Millwood. From there we have 7 miles to Riley Chapel Road, ( of which 2+ miles is considered Class I-III by the American Whitewater Association) where we'll put out for the night.

We have full access to a cabin of which sleeps 7-8 comfortably. If we have over flow, there's over 20 acres of private property to camp on and explore.

This trip is for those who have intermediate to advanced whitewater skills. Musty have your own gear!

Cost per day is only $25.00 including a BBQ dinner on Saturday catered by Spiezio's.

MUST RSVP by March 21th.

See you there!

Great fun with some new friends! The water wasn't too high running at 229cfs. Factory Rapids continues to be a menace and claimed two more today. Although wet, not broken!

    Okay, guys and gals.

Regarding food service for this Sat. Is there anyone other than my wife that is either a vegan or vegetarian? I want to make sure we address everyone's dietary requirements. For us carnivores I plan on making a pork version of an old family receipt simply called "Steak and Sauce". My version includes bones pork loin sauteed first with garlic and onions. It then removed from the iron skillet and placed in a slow cooker for several hours (until it shreds apart) along with home made sauce with mushrooms and roasted red peppers; served over a bed of mashed potatoes. I'll also be serving a side of pasta and bread. in addition I'll also be serving another old family favorite of which is made up of cucumbers, tomatoes and onions salad. This is made the night before and marinates for 24 hours. Yummie!

After all long day on the water, I'm sure this will be just what the doctor ordered. As grandma would always say, Mangia! "Eat up"

    See everyone Saturday
