The Adventure Summit

The Adventure Summit is the area’s premier outdoor adventure exposition that will focus attention on Dayton as the Outdoor Adventure Capital of the Midwest. The event is free and open to outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and interest levels.

The Adventure Summit will serve the adventure market from skill clinics and hands-on trainings from some of the world’s leading experts to showcasing local places to play and locals who have played around the world. The Adventure Summit is committed to providing something for everyone from the armchair adventurer to the hard core enthusiast.

There will be speakers, educational classes, kayak pool sessions, fitness classes, climbing wall, bouldering competition, and expo, music and beer tasting.

Jon Turk, an expedition kayaker, is one of the featured speakers this year.

Sorry you missed a great 'trade show' featuring so many wonderful outdoor activities! I did not see any fellow River Rats, but saw several COP members... it was a large facility at Wright State so I could have missed you. I picked up a bunch of literature, bought a book and Yak-Trax for hiking in snow/icy conditions, signed up to learn how to fly-fish. I met a couple of guys to go paddling with on new rivers/streams... who also want to try 'our areas'. One of the most interesting conversations I enjoyed was with Dave Cornthwaite... imagine my surprise to see him later on stage as one of the featured presenters!! As down to earth a guy as you'd hope to ever meet! I'll share more with you all later!

Evidently there is a serious time lag from when one first posts a response here before it appears 'live'.
I will be running about 15 minutes late... if that helps you. Otherwise I hope to see you there!

Anybody want to meet about 9 AM at the Bob Evans on the south side of 70 at the first exit west of 270 to ride over to this event with me?

What's the consensus on when people are going to this? Saturday is good, but Friday might be difficult because of work

Who all is 'we'? Ya gotta mouse in your pocket? Friday's events start @ 4PM. Saturday is when the Kayak guy does his presentation... AND the beer tastings start at 11:00 AM Saturday. As for me, I was thinking about going over Saturday morning.

We should consider car pooling to this event. There were at least ten (10) Rats at the Tri-State paddler's SWAP meet last weekend in Cincinnati!
At this Adventure Summit schedule, Beer Tastings start Saturday @ 11:00 AM
Any great classes for kayakers / camping?
    Thanks! SB
