?Eco-Flicks? Film Festival - in celebration of Earth Week on Friday, April 23 - at Palo Alto Lucie Stern Community Center, Ballroom. Organized by former Mayor Peter Drekmeier and self-proclaimed Eco-Geek Matt Harnack, join us to watch these inspiring stories and discuss the environmental challenges we face. Here are some of the featured films:
? Used Matters (7 minutes) - We rarely think about all the stuff we use then throw "away," all that "used matter." See how some creative folks are reusing on peninsula and get inspired to start reusing too.
? Pie From Scratch (12 minutes) - Fresh from the farm to your plate, Pie Ranch, an educational farm in
Pescadero, grows the ingredients to make pie from scratch.
? Fossil Fuel Free Film (20 minutes) - A film by 100% renewable energy ...well almost. Filmmaker Matt Harnack was determined to break his addiction to petroleum.
? Trees for El Camino Project (5 minutes) ? A film about and dedicated to community activist, Betty Meltzer. Popcorn from Pie Ranch and homemade lemonade will be served.http://www.cityofpaloalto.org/civica/filebank/blobdload.asp?BlobID=19771
Afterwards we can go for dessert/coffee/tea downtown Palo Alto!
