Casa Fiesta: House Party Dining at this Delish Little Dive in Tenleytown!

And now for something completely different.....

Taking a complete departure from my usual choice of French fare, thought I'd take The Weekly Dinner weekly to a wonderful little dive in Tenley town that offers unique and authentic Mexican/Central American cuisine... again, this means the dishes are not only Mexican, but also a creative mixture and compilation of recipes from Guatemala, Honduras, Beliz, Nicaragua, Panama and, (most influential), El Salvador.

While this restaurant offers the usual and expected fare of Chimichangas, Burritos, Tacos, Fajitas and Enchiladas; it also forwards more unique, unusual and (arguably delicious) dishes such as Pollo Ucatan (Chicken sauteed with vegetables, tomatoes in ranchera sauce, topped with melted cheese... and Lengua de Res (beef tongue sauteed with tomatoes, onions, and green bell peppers.

I've always enjoyed eating here (even made more special after a night of heavy drinking ;), but be aware that this is a standard measured within the DIVE EATS category!!! Expectation should therefore be kept at a certain minimum.... you have been duly warned and notified...

That said, however, would certainly choose Casa Fiesta over other more affluent and Mexican enterprises in the area....

Hope to see you there!

Jen

(Ah yes.. good margaritas and flan too! )

Need to Contact the Restaurant? [i.e. confirm location, notify to the group if running late, etc.]. Text on your phone to 466453 (GOOGLE) and type the restaurant name + the city/state in the message body. Google Business Services will text you back with the address and phone #!

1. Limited to 16 slots.

2. If you RSVP "YES" please make sure you can definitely make it. With 3,800+ members and limited seating, we cannot afford no-shows. It's unfair to the other members who would like to attend and also to the organizers who have to explain to the restaurant why the reserved # of guests didn't show (can damage our reputation). No-Show rules apply.

3. Event already full?, waitlist for the event!. Use the Waitlist option (the Organizer for each event will enable this as needed). Also, check back regularly as attendees have been known to cancel up to Noon the day of the event.

4. Billing (add 30% tax/tip to your bill). Remember, include the required 30% for tip / tax in addition to the food / beverages you order as defined in our FAQs.

5. NEW MEMBERS or 1st TIME EVENT GO-ERS, if you have questions about the group, RSVPs, or the overall dining event process, visit our FAQs and our No-Show Policy.

Dear JoeN: no problem. I was not trying to promote what I do for a livelihood. Just trying to give some profile or bio info on what I do and who I am.

Well-prepared Salvadorean fare, home-style. Good company, perfect therapy for a damp fall day (and furloughs). Thanks Jenn - got to know another gem, conveniently located.

Happy Fall Seasons Greetings! I hope you'll be able to absorb me into your dining group. I'm an English major who instructs middle school students on how to improve their English. They are members of a local Squash team. I hoping to expand my tutoring business
