--> Nice writeup in the in Washington Post's 2013 Fall Dining Guide

FOOD: Modern Mexican (Small Plates). Part of the Jose Andres family of restaurants (Jaleo, Zaytinya, etc), they offer small-plates oriented dishes but with a Mexican cuisine emphasis. Mix of seafood and non-seafood offered. Great house-made guacamole, made tableside by your waiter with fresh ingredients! Goes great with their salsa / chips. Usually for brunch there's a # of specials, plus their standard items.

Good cocktails made here for the enterprising bruncher as well. But save room to order churros to end your meal!

SPACE: Nice location and vibrant décor, good looking modern space. It's pretty chatty in here.

CLOSEST METRO: National Archives (Yellow / Green lines), Chinatown [Red, Yellow, Green Lines]. Quick 1 block walk from either metro.

Sundays street parking (look at the meters, always a smart thing) isn't too bad. Look around 5 - 6 St NW, between E and H St)

For directions using the Metro, try using the Trip Planner at the WMATA website.

Need to Contact the Restaurant? [i.e. confirm location, notify to the group if running late, etc.]. Text on your phone to 466453 (GOOGLE) and type the restaurant name + the city/state in the message body. Google Business Services will text you back with the address and phone #!

************************************

1. Limited to 7 slots.

2. If you RSVP "YES" please make sure you can definitely make it. With 3,900+ members and limited seating, we cannot afford no-shows. It's unfair to the other members who would like to attend and also to the organizers who have to explain to the restaurant why the reserved # of guests didn't show (can damage our reputation). No-Show rules apply.

3. Event already full?, waitlist for the event!. Use the Waitlist option (the Organizer for each event will enable this as needed). Also, check back regularly as attendees have been known to cancel up to Noon the day of the event.

4. Billing (add 30% tax/tip to your bill). Remember, include the required 30% for tip / tax in addition to the food / beverages you order as defined in our FAQs.

5. NEW MEMBERS or 1st TIME EVENT GO-ERS, if you have questions about the group, RSVPs, or the overall dining event process, visit our FAQs and our No-Show Policy.

Thanks everyone for joining me for brunch. Enjoyed the company and conversations and most of the dishes. Too bad one dish took almost forever to arrive at our table but the freshly made guacamole and desserts (especially the oaxacan chocolate custard with passionfruit) were wonderful.

I'll be managing waitlist for this event. Be sure respond ASAP to my emails to the waitlisters (and provide the info I request).
