Writers live or die on their opening lines that set the stage for all that follows. Good opening lines hook readers immediately, drawing them into their stories. An opening line that lags for an instant risks losing a reader – or potential publisher - forever.
Think of it as the encounter the reader has with your work – what impressions are setting? What promises are you pledging that must be fulfilled? Who are you introducing to them?
This group is to help you achieve your goals. That means jumping from your aspirations to the actual hands-on-the-keyboard practices that work. This group is intended to help you make that leap. Once you take it, the series of specific aspects of writing won’t seem so daunting. The jump is up to you!
Remember, Richard Reeves once said, “I can’t write a screenplay. No one can. But I can write a scene, and if I write enough scenes, pretty soon, I’ve got a screenplay.”
