Sharing Ideas for a Better World: An Open House Social

We are shifting gears a bit with this meetup and combining a discussion with a social. The topic of discussion will be ideas that might help to make the world a better place. The discussion will be very informal, and will be structured along ideas that improve: 1) the economy, 2) the environment, 3) Philadelphia, and 4) friendships. Each topic will have its own station so that you can choose which discussion you want to participate in, but you will still be free to mingle to investigate the other topics. But this meetup is as much a social event as a discussion and our hope is to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere where you can connect with new people, participate in a dialogue that you find interesting and possibly compelling, and most importantly enjoy the experience.

Wine and refreshments will be available at no cost.

Donations gratefully accepted.

I'm interested in POWER -- will look for you at the meeting tonight.

I'm planning to start something like affinity groups that deal with practical personal issues (like housing, income, health care, and affordable education -- political organizing also but that's not the focus). These should be social groups as well.

Connections/relationships are one of the key aspects of a healthy life. With all the gadgets and social medias it makes it easy to have the illusion that you are really connected.

Betty, relationships and connections in life are very transient in nature. Human beings tend to become disillusioned while in relationship . Relationship only lasts when you are able to fulfill other person's needs . When the bargain ends , relationship ends!

Also , this is not how the society should operate but this is the trend these days! Sad but true!!

Yep, Randy... building relationships... that's a key factor in every aspect of society. But we are still doing this so very helter-skelter. Let's get organized about it! Ask me about Community Magic!

Very interested ... in fact I'd like to see this month with different locations, days, and times. I'd like to see seminars specifically about building relationships.... friendships, etc.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
