Book Club: Plato's Meno

Instead of trying to digest an entire book-length text, this month we will try dealing with a single Platonic Dialog: The Meno.

This work relates to our previous topic of skepticism with the "argument of the learner" (simply: if you do not know what you do not know, how could you come to know when you had learned it?)  A treatment of the heavily influential idea of the Platonic Forms, and a discussion of the meaning of virtue in the broadest sense.  Likely we will address at least these three aspects, and of course anything else you can come up with!

The full text of the dialog is available free online here.

The Wiki about this dialog is here.

It worked to open my mind to various issues associated with "virtues".

Sorry. I thought Meno was such a great idea for a read! Most unfortunately I am slammed but intend to attend the next because this is a great group and I will want to find out what happened!

Oh man, I am going to have to miss this after all. I'll make it one of these days.

Looking forward to discourse on Plato, and a Hammerhead.
