City of Calgary municipal building (map)

MOST RECENT UPDATE: Oct 20 @ 4:35 PM
Pleae note that you will be required to sign in at the Building Operations & Control Centre at Municipal Building’s ground floor in order to allow access to the elevators. Signs will be posted at the elevators and doors to indicate the boardroom’s location. Onsite contacts are Jacob George and Irene Chan.

IMPORTANT: The City of Calgary security requires the names of all individuals who will be attending. Otherwise, they won't allow you entrance. So, if you plan to attend please RSVP indicating so. I've changed the time by which you can register to tomorrow (Tuesday) morning at 11:00 AM. After that you won't be able to sign-up. Security needs full (first and last names). I have most but for those of you who haven't provided your full name I've sent you an Email. I look forward to your reply.

UPDATE: I originaly indicated a pub will be chosen. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find a pub in the area that will take reservations at the time we need them. So, after the presentation we can agree on a place to go. Several pubs are in the area.

We invite you to come and listen to Jacob George discuss the development of a corporate social media strategy: 15 things The City of Calgary has learned using social media.

We will start at the City of Calgary municipal building at 6:00 PM with a presentation by Jacob. At 7:00 PM we will go to a nearby pub to relax and share our thoughts on social media. The pub is yet to be determined. An update will be provided when a pub has been chosen.

If you can't make it to the presentation you are welcome to join us at the pub.

Jacob currently leads a small team with big ambitions at the City of Calgary. He and his team are responsible for managing the City’s web sites, media relations, corporate marketing and internal communications. Will there be notes? What about an audio recording (i.e., for podcast)?
I cannot attend but would love to hear about.

Jacob George did a great job outlining the innovative stuff the City of Calgary is doing with Social Media, including the setbacks and pitfalls. Very informative, with humorous twists. A great session! Thanks to Jacob for hosting us and taking the time to present.
