Third Tuesday Calgary is proud to host a discussion panel with three of Calgary's best community managers in honour of Community Manager Appreciation Day (#CMAD). #CMAD takes place annually every fourth Monday in January as a way to recognize and celebrate the efforts of community managers around the world using social media to improve customer experiences. Darren Hailes is the Emerging Media Coordinator at WestJet. He is responsible for sharing WestJet culture with the airline’s online guests. Darren has worked in travel and tourism for more than 14 years. An avid traveller, Darren has lived in Canada, Australia and Europe and has toured Asia and Africa
Kelly Ferrier is Editor/Community Manager at Calgary digital marketing agency, Communicatto. With a writing background that spans the journalism, legal, non-profit and new media industries, she excels at finding, and then telling, stories on any topic. Her four years as a digital media writer and SEO copywriter, and three years in the newspaper industry, are rounded out with an educational background that includes an English degree and a graduate certificate in journalism.
Allyson Simpson, a native Calgarian, is a marketing and communications professional in the oil and gas industry working for Enbridge. She has a passion for connecting with others, and thrives on giving back to her community. Allyson has worked as a community manager with companies from a range of sectors in the industry; maintaining guidelines, facilitating community discussion, and building brand advocates.
