Enterprise 2.0: How social media will change the future of work

Social media has taken the Internet by storm, generating an unprecedented level of audience participation in corporate communications and marketing that were previously tightly controlled.

Niall Cook is Hill & Knowlton's worldwide director of marketing technology and author of Enterprise 2.0, one of the first books to explain the impact that social software will have inside companies.

Join Niall as he introduces this emerging landscape and the key concepts that make up 'Enterprise 2.0'. Using examples from well known companies in different industry sectors, he will illustrate how to apply enterprise 2.0 thinking to encourage communication, cooperation, collaboration and connections between employees and stakeholders in your own company.

    •  Unfortunately, it was often very difficult to hear the speaker due to the type of space, especially for those near the doorway
    •  Thanxs Niall, I can understand now how the cooperate world will have to adapt and allow the tools such as social media for their employees to attain the objectives.
    •  I was personally interested in this topic because it is related to my consulting work. Very interesting discussion.
    •  Niall presented insightful information about enterprise 2.0. I found the discussion timely and it was helpful to learn what other organizations are going through.
    •  Smart guy, knew what he was talking about. A good source of primary info.
    •  Very knowledgeable and communicated his points across well.
    •  I thought Niall did a great job presenting the research that he had collected for the book. It's always difficult to keep the content of discussion balanced between disclosing everything and not sharing at all. I think Niall struck the right balance and generated real interest in not only the book itself, but the topic in general.
    •  Some great points and case studies...interesting input from the audience too.
    •  Niall was a great speaker; very knowledgeable about the subject matter.
    •  interesting and entertaining
    •  This was my first time at one of these Meetups so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I was expecting, however, was to learn insightful new details about how social media will impact the workplace as the title implies. Instead, he only spoke for half the allotted time and it didn't help that the whole event started 30 minutes late. Niall was very personable and friendly and seemed knowledgeable about the coming of the digital age. I didn't really walk away feeling enlightened about anything new, but I thought some of the examples he gave of how corporations are using social media were very useful. It would have been beneficial to me if he was more specific about HOW social media will and can be integrated into the workplace. Name web applications, suggest websites, case studies, and corporations that are at the cutting edge of this movement. The talk was very general and I was looking for something more deep, insightful, and concise.
    •  Interesting speaker. Good balance on level of information, not too much detail. He provided the audience with useful information relevant to our area of interest.
    •  Interesting insights
