AideRSS' PostRank algorithm provides bloggers and readers with a means to identify the content with which others have become most engaged. This saves readers time, enabling them to filter for only the most engaging content. It also helps content authors to focus on content that their readers want to have.

Now, Third Tuesday Toronto participants have a chance to meet and hear from the people behind AideRSS. Ilya Grigorik, Co-founder and Chief Technology Office, Jim Murphy, VP Development, and Melanie Baker, AideRSS' Community Manager, will speak at Third Tuesday Toronto on September 16.

Ilya, Jim and Melanie will talk about how they are building a company around Ilya's PostRank concept. Melanie will talk with us about the approach she has taken to building and sustaining a community of users. And Jim and Ilya will give us insight into their plans for future growth and innovation.

If you happen to be in Toronto on September 16, consider attending Third Tuesday with AideRSS. Third Tuesdays are always a great place to meet and talk with others who are interested in new developments in social media. And the session with AideRSS will give us a chance to talk with the people behind one of the most promising Canadian social media startups.

Thanks to our Sponsor, CNW

As they have for the past year, CNW Group is once again underwriting the cost of the sound system. This is our largest cost item and CNW's support enables us to keep Third Tuesday a free community-based event. Thank you CNW!

I'm missing these meetups. And there's nothing comparable out here in London (Ont.).

This session was a bit over my head at points. I was wondering if there's anyway that you could rate the meet-up as far as how advanced the information is going to be. I know that there were people sitting beside me who looked as if they had no clue and I heard them say this was their first meet-up. My thoughts are that if you want to encourage more people to join the discussions should be kept at a more beginner level, if it's supposed to be exclusively for people with a broad background in social media than maybe make that more clear to new joiners. You could give each meet-up a rating of beginner, intermediate, or advanced and that way only the people who the info is relevant to would show up? Just an idea... Great event as always, enjoyed seeing everyone! Thanks!

Good presentation but a very late start
  • Caroline
    found the presentation too esoteric

I was one of the speakers, so I can't really rate myself, but meeting everyone was great, the audience seemed engaged, and there were great questions and items that we can follow up on.
  • Andy Strote
Interesting product. Low-key presentation. A few good slides would have helped.

I was very interested in AideRSS's service, since I hadn't yet tried it!

Great product and plenty of information to share. They are clearly still getting used to speaking engagements and sometimes seemed unnerved by tough questions. But they were amiable and approachable-public speaking training and time will make them excellent speakers.

They shared some great experiences and use cases for this foundational technology. Their comments and answers to questions were straight forward and authentic. They could have geared their comments and positioning a bit more to the PR / Communications audience in terms of use cases and impact that their technology has on them. Perhaps this should be a function of the Third Tuesday team to prep them as such. Also in terms of staging the event in the future (should so many continue to turn out) it would help having a moderator for the Q&A and a rover with the microphone. This would allow to smoothly get through more questions from the audience. Overall great subject, great presenters and great event.

Besides the obvious flaw of being about a 1/2 hour late, they were articulate, relevant and informative. I appreciate that they took the time to come and speak to us about something they are obviously passionate about.
  • Amanda Laird
Very engaging speakers with a very interesting product.

What made this event special was the three different angles presented - that of start-up, community-building and the use of AideRSS itself. I left with information about the product that I can use right away.

almost an hour late -- had to leave.

I felt that the speakers were clearly engaged and passionate about their service. It was clear that they knew what they were talking about and fielded questions calmly and thoroughly. I felt, however, that some questions were covered a little too in depth, which did not leave as much time for questions. Also, a slightly better explanation why the service is important - I still did not understand how I could sift through the Chris Brogan and Robert Scoble posts to get to something I might actually comment on. I think many people feel that those blogs are not accessible to 90% of the blogging community because many people don't feel authoritative enough to comment on. And what happens if I go on vacation and miss a weeks worth of posts? How will AideRSS help me sift through faster without missing interesting posts?
