The field of marketing and public relations has changed, moving companies of all sizes towards new media to reach their audiences.

The presentation was good. I think that I would have liked to have heard about what problems Future Shop had encountered in the past regarding product launches and how it produced a PR plan to address those problems. Elliott Chun gave an otherwise good presentation.

I agree with Jeremy that Ceili's is a good venue to hold a Meetup. The Network Hub is very intimate but can not hold the number of visitors that this Meetup attracts.

Perfect event - didn't start late, presentation was info-packed and cut to the chase, Powerpoint didn't distract, and people to network with to continue the conversation. Bravo!

Thanks so much to Anastasia Koutalianos for getting the ball rolling on the traditional-media-meets-new-media discussion. On May 17th, 2011, we have Elliott Chun joining us from Future Shop to talk about how they took their traditional communications approaches and adapted it to the new media landscape. See you all soon!

I 100% agree. I would love to hear personal case studies and what tools they used, the successes as well as the failures. We need more presentations on what works and how - instead of just why we should be using social media.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I entirely agree: social media is by no means the only contributor to marketing success. Do you guys have any companies in mind that have combined traditional and new media well? Of late, we've been hosting a lot of book authors, but I'd be happy to bring in local speakers if the pieces line up and the schedule permits.

As for a location change, I feel Ceili's works best for the size of the group. The Network Hub is fantastic, but it gets a little tight.

How about the week of Feb. 21, but not on that Monday? Can we meet at the Network Hub perhaps?
