What: Free Picnic, potluck, Boating, & September Birthdays on Allatoona

Due to overwhelming response to our picnics and huge request from September babies; we are going back to Allatoona; and this time we will have an actual beach. Best beach on Allatoona is Galts Ferry Marina. The shelter there can accommodate 100, however we need to get there early due to limited parking.

SEPTEMBER member Birthday celebration; enjoying boating, potluck, picnic, cookout, grilling, games, swimming, sunning, social on the beautiful lake Allatoona on Sunday 9/26 (no lifeguard). Open to all members (If you have a boat, bring it for more fun; I'm bringing mine). Bring something to share with the group or a side dish and let's make this event huge. If it's your birthday month, make sure to put it in your RSVP. I'll bring 70 "Hebrew National" hot dogs for the grill along with other chips & dips. You can bring anything to make this a picnic. For example: buns, condiments, sandwiches, wraps, veggie/fruit tray, Potato salad, cheese, Instant Charcoal x2, ice x4, coleslaw, beans, mash potatoes, tablecloth x10, plates, utensils etc. Please indicate in your RSVP what you are bringing. Bring your own drinks.

About Allatoona: Lake Allatoona is a beautiful lake close to Atlanta, GA. It?s the most popular lake in Georgia and among the most visited in the whole United States. It?s run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers who built it in the 1950s.

Where: Galts Ferry Marina. Contact# for organizers will be emailed to confirmed attendees on Saturday before event.

Parking: $4/car unless you have Corp of Engineers annual pass. Carpooling is recommended due to limited parking (Feel free to post for carpool).

Fee: Free (donations for boating are welcome, but not required). Champagne sunset cruise $15 cash/person (pay on event day to signup).

Request (if boating): 21 and over. Please adhere to all posted rules & regulations in park. On boat - no land shoes (water socks ok), Wear life vest (recommended, provided). No horse play. No smoking. Organizers are not liable or responsible for your personal safety or your belongings. Please use your best judgment & lookout for each other. Waiver needs to be signed at beginning of boating. Let?s keep it safe & have fun.

Plan: 10.00am ? Meet, greet, and introductions
12.00pm ? Fire up the grill
2.00pm - Launch the boat (if not already in the water)
2.30pm to 6.00pm ? Fun, fun, & some more fun in the sun:). We'll swim, wade, play Frisbee, ball, whatever games you bring, as well as take joy rides on the boat.
7.00pm to sunset - Champagne Sunset cruise (optional & fee required)

Music ? Feel free to bring boom box, mp3 player etc with tasteful tunes.

Directions from Atlanta - I-75 North, exit#277 turn right & drive 0.9 miles, then turn Left on Hunt/Kellogg Creek (1st lights after the bridge). Drive 2 miles and turn left on Galts Ferry rd (look for big brown park sign). After 0.8 miles stay left on the fork and road becomes Rocky Ln. Drive short distance to end at security gate.

Facilities at shelter - Open sided covered shelter with tables/benches that can seat 100. Restrooms, Charcoal grill, Sandy beach to play, Boat dock, & lake access (no pets allowed in the park).
