Hydration for Summer Training
REI Tempe
As the weather heats up and our outdoor activities increase, so does our risk for dehydration. Maintaining adequate hydration is important for staying healthy and performing at your best. Come join registered dietitian and certified specialist in sports dietetics, Jennifer Koslo as she discusses this important topic. You will learn how to figure out how much fluid you lose in exercise and the best way to replace it. You will also learn what the general guidelines are for hydrating before, during, and after exercise. The dizzying array of sports drinks and caffeinated beverages will also be discussed and what each of them has to offer. You will leave the class knowing how to choose the best beverage and how to make your own homemade sports drink.
