Skill level: Moderate
Length: 8.8 miles round trip
Since we have had a lot of rain lately, let's see if the falls are running in the Tonto National Forest. This is an out and back hike, to the water falls and back. There is some scrambling and loose rock on this trail. High clearance vehicles are not necessary.
Directions: From Scottsdale:
Take Shea Boulevard east to the Beeline Highway (State Route 87). Turn left onto Highway 87. The trailhead is just past milepost 210 on Arizona Highway 87, which is 21 miles north of Shea Blvd.
Carpool: Please feel free to form your own carpools. Be sure to compensate your drivers and give yourself enough time to be at the trail head and ready to go promptly at 8AM.
Bring plenty of water, snacks, proper hiking shoes, hats, sunscreen, and dress in layers. If you bring your dog, be sure your dog is capable of a nine mile hike!
