Mt. Union - Phoenix mtn preserve

A relatively new trail system in North Phoenix, the Preserve is a Mtn. Biking paradise, but is fun for hiking too. After climbing into the park, city lights fade away into the dark of the wide open desert and you can forget the city is so close. I am making the change to Mt. Union more or less permanent to shake up our routine. The distance is longer and the hike will be a full two hours but this one is worth the work. After leaving the Dixie Mtn trail and rounding the corner, we cross a saddle and descend into flat terrain, then climb the last mile to a neat, narrow summit ridge where the treat is a great view of the airport.

Return is via the same path.

Meet time: 6:00

Chuckles! there is only one scenario in which you may not be able to recognize me - I will let the creative imaginations get to work. How about if you do not recognize me, then you get one of my dreaded hugs!

It's been so long since we've seen Susan on the trail with us, we may not recognize her! Oh wait, I'm pretty sure we will ;)

Tehehe! I have definitely missed you all crazy hikers. Now go easy on me when I am trailing behind, huffing and puffing. Yes, I know Mike, but you know with all the wax in my ears, sometimes I hear "voices"
Dan, yes, the one and only :-) Looking forward to seeing you all.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
