Bell Pass Fairly Fit

Bell Pass Out and Back

Weather is perfect!

Length:  about 6-7 miles; 2-3 hours

Difficulty: Difficult!  We'll keep a good pace, even thru the STEEP section near the top.  This is a good FITNESS hike.  You'll like it best if you've been hiking regularily and prefer a fairly brisk pace.

Not recommended for beginners.

Dog Friendly: yes, on leash, just be sure to bring lots of water for your dog too

Location:  Take Pima/Princess exit from 101, north on Pima to Legend, east on Legend to Thompson Peak Pkwy, then south on Thompson Peak just a little way.  If you get to Bell you've gone too far south.  Trailhead is about half way between Bell and Legend on Thompson Peak.

If you like to combine fitness with wilderness with luxury facilities, all at an inner city location, you'll love this hike.  We traverse a little of Gateway Loop before veering off into the quiet canyon, making our way up, up and then some very steep up.  We'll hit the top of Bell Pass, breath in the view, then turn around back to the Gateway.

I'm planning to go to the summit and then turn back. However, sometimes there are others in the group that go on to do the whole loop.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
