We're back to our traditional parking area for this hike. The trails now have names! We will be hiking the Cholla loop north, up over the top of the hill, then down the east side. Our fastest hikers then will split off and go across the street to Arrowhead point and down the west side, back to the parking. I (Daniel) will lead the rest back via the coach whip route. The route is used by bicycles but does have some rocks.

Meet time: 6:00

Distance: 4.6 miles for the short(er) loop

Elevation Gain: 788'

Terrain: Well maintained hiking trail

Rating: Moderate

Duration: 1.5 hours

Equipment: Your sturdy hiking shoes and at least some water. Also, a headlight or other light source.

City Parks Map

From either direction on Loop 101, exit at 59th Avenue and go north past Deer Valley rd, and, after beginning to climb the hill, turn left into the park.

Hello. This is my first hike with this group. I am not familiar with any trail names at Thunderbird and I do not know which of the parking lots is the traditional parking lot. Can anyone help? Which parking lot is the traditional parking lot?
    1. The one closest to the Restroom on the southside of the central picnic areas? 2. The one closest to the entry off 59 th Ave closest to the trailhead with the choice of going East toward the bridge crossover.? 3. The parking lot on the West side from the 59th Ave entrance to the central picnic areas? Thanks ! Looking forward to Hiking with this group!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
