Carpool 7am, Hike 10am
5.3 miles Moderate-Difficult
This short but difficult trek combines 3 trails on a one-way hike up Mount Lemmon, with car shuttles at both ends! We'll start on one of my personal favorites, the Marshall Gulch Trail, a 1.2 mile gradual climb up a cool shady canyon stocked with wildflowers and a gentle stream. At the confluence of trails at the top of the mountain, we'll take the Wilderness of Rocks Trail 1.7 miles through the picturesque Pusch Ridge Wilderness. Then we'll take a Right on the Lemmon Rock Lookout Trail. This portion of our trek is very steep and climbs 2,000 feet in 2 miles up to the historic Forest Service Lookout Cabin. Enjoy the views and then proceed Right on the Lemmon Trail to the parking lot/Radio Towers where our car shuttles will be parked! Optional lunch afterwards at Zona 78 Italian Kitchen 7301 E. Tanque Verde Rd Tucson[masked]
PLEASE NOTE THAT MONSOON THUNDERSTORMS ARE HIGHLY LIKELY! PACK A RAIN PONCHO AND/OR RAIN GEAR & DRY SACKS FOR CAMERAS & CELL PHONES!
