This hike (and I named this peak; these peaks are un-named as far as I know) starts out on a gradual uphill, in a sandy wash. But then we get up on a trail and continue uphill (on-trail all the way up) to a fine peak, tallest in the area, with great 360 degree view. Since we are on the east side of this hill, we will have shade during a good portion of the hike, tho sunny at first.
A very respectable workout, this hike rates as a “fitness hike”. It is an “out-and-back” route, so if you get tired, you can sit down, and we will pick you up on the way back down.
Rattlesnakes, and other creatures capable of defending themselves, may be found throughout the desert. Pay attention to the ground in front of you and to where you place your feet and hands. Generally, we want to leave flora and fauna undisturbed.
