NOTE 8:00 AM START!
One last (easy) round before our killer Seven Summits. Remember when we thought this was hard?? We'll hike up to Bell Pass, down and around to Windgate Pass then make our way back to Gateway Trailhead. Then the best part: go to Tom's Thumb Market for brunch
Length: 9.6 miles, according to Mike's GPS from last time.
Difficulty: Not if you've been training with us:) Otherwise, it's a hard hike with lots of steep up and we keep a solid pace.
Elevation Gain: Bell Pass is 1202 feet and Windgate Pass is 858 feet. We'll have plenty of up and down.
Time: I'm guessing 4-5 hours
Warning: not suitable for beginners! This is a good workout and you'll be happy if you regularly hike this kind of distance and elevation gain. We have to keep a decent pace, so if it becomes clear that you aren't happily keeping up with the group, you have some great options to turn around or do Gateway Loop on your own. Remember, only YOU are responsible for your own safety.
Bring lots of water 3-5 liters and snacks
I'll collect $1 voluntary donation to HHH.
