One of my favorite hikes and I haven't been here in over two years. Join me please if you wish!
The Groom Creek Loop is an 8.7 mile moderate to difficult loop hike. It is described as a tranquil hike among beautiful stands of timber with expansive views from the top of Spruce Mountain. We will be climbing 1200 feet over a 3 mile ascent. At the top of Spruce Mountain there are picnic tables scattered about plus the fire tower is there to visit should it be manned. Such a view we will have of Prescott, Granite Mountain, Mingus Mountain, the Mongollon Rim and the San Fransisco Peaks.

Please lets all try to car pool to save our natural resources. Please meet at 6:45 a.m. in the Fry's parking lot at the SW corner of I-17 & Bell Road, between the gas station and the store. Please state if you will be meeting at the car pool location or the trail head. We don't want to leave anyone behind. Some of us will have lunch afterward in Prescott so arrange your car pools accordingly. In other words, if you have to be back to Phoenix, ride with someone who also has to be back. Remember always to compensate your driver.
As always, water, water, water, nutritious snacks, hats, sunscreen, good footwear, cameras and, yes, water.
