Thunderbird park, North loop

Return to our original parking for the Thunderbird loop. We will leave the Amphitheater parking lot and go east along Pinnacle peak rd on the H1 trail, then looping over the northern most of Thunderbird's three hills on the H3 trail.

Meet time: 6:00

Distance: 5 miles

Elevation Gain: 788'

Terrain: Well maintained bicycle trail

Rating: Moderate

Duration: 1.5 hours

Equipment: Your sturdy hiking shoes and at least some water. Also, a headlight or other light source.

Direction: From either direction on Loop 101, exit at 59th Avenue and go north past Deer Valley rd, and, after beginning to climb the hill, turn left into the park.

    This was a nice first hike of the year for me. We enjoyed ourselves.. I hope my shoes are now broken in better.
