Verrado Petroglyphs to Peak 1976

This looks like it could be a fun hike to some Petroglyphs then up peak 1976. There are some other options that could make this a 5 miler and tougher instead of a 4 miler. We will decide as a group when we get there.

Once again this is an exporatory hike. So if you are uncomfortable not being sure where you are going please do not attend.

Hike will start at approx 9:30 please be on time

Distance: 4-5 miles

Elevation: approx 800 feet

Difficulty: moderate to difficult due to rocky terrain and steep downslope ( see GPS on hikeaz website) also some bushwacking,

The description calls for a gentle up to a saddle then maybe some bushwacking up to the peak. The descriptions are old and since there is a development at the trailhead some improvements may have been made.

Peak 1976

Optional route:

******** I put the trailhead as the meetup point but if anyone knows of somewhere on I10 east of the 101 loop that we can meet to carpool let me know and I will list it.

Directions to hike: West on I-10 to Exit 120. North on Verrado Way, 40mph, ~2.4 miles. West on Lost Creek Drive, 30mph, ~1.2 miles to trailhead. No facilities, not even a garbage can.
