Once again the Libertarians exhibit their ability to stay informed and engaged in the issues taking place in the political arena while the other party, the Republicrats continue to gasp for air as their heads get buried deeper and deeper in the morass of apathy. An in-depth discussion of the nuances surrounding the Hampton Roads Transportation Accountability Commission, the unelected authority created in the 2014 General Assembly took place and revealed the sinister playbook that has been created to spend hundreds of million of our precious tax dollars. Of the projects that are being considered the most expensive is the so-called Third Crossing, which is a misnomer. At $6 billion plus, the amount of traffic congestion relief will be insignificant and needs to be shelved. It's primary purpose is to serve the Virginia Ports. Let the ports pay for this project and not scam the Tidewater taxpayers by making them believe it's going to reduce traffic congestion.

Robert you are so right. The Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission is meeting on Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m. in the Towne Bank briefing room at 200 High Street if you want to come by and talk to Ned Barham after the meeting. If you can't make it, I'll talk with him. Thanks, Robert, for all the work you do to help keep us informed. Donna
