I started knitting in the 1960's, when I was about 14. In fact I learned to knit and drive the same year, but I've driven a lot more than I've knitted. Five years ago I met a young woman who is now a designer at Knit Picky and she inspired me to try more than just hats and scarves.
I currently have 2 projects on my needles. The first is a dish cloth in pink and white cotton. Very simple and I use them unmercifully. The second is a sweater for myself. Those winter mornings at the computer scream for a warm sweater. I'm making it out of an acrylic called Fiesta. It is a very utilitarian garment easy to wash, and it won't make me itch.
I'm Terri Kleinberg, I manage an apartment community here in Tigard. I just found this group on the Internet and would love to have some new knitting friends. I am looking forward to meeting you all.
I think the knitting group is a great idea. There are a number of on-line groups but that still has the cold ether-net untouchability about it. Here when someone makes a little error, someone else can tell them how to fix it. When you have a question about what a pattern says or how to read a chart, a person in the group can help.
