Hometown: Asheville, NC

I grew up on a farm and I have a deep love and respect for nature and preserving our planet. Also, I lost my home and much else as a result of the economy. I firmly believe it should not be such a struggle for everyone to have the opportunity to live in a nice home. "Affordable housing" should be redefined and not be the exception... And bigger isn't always better. The change begins with us. There are solutions and living smaller and greener is an important one. These changes in how we live need to begin with each one of us... NOW. We can do it if we do it together... One house at a time, one neighborhood... one state... one country... You get the point.
All of the above. I want to make a difference.
The satisfaction of knowing that my efforts had a positive affect on at least one person's life... But preferably the world. AND everything I can learn about sustainable building methods related to tiny & small housing.
I'm a Project Manager, designer, photographer. I designed and built my own deck and some other small building projects. I'm good at organizing events and making things happen. I also have good computer skills and can build simple web sites. http://www.kristensalvatore.com and http://www.sweetsimplesites.com As my grandmother used to say, once I get a "bee in my bonnet"... Well...I guess I caught a "Small House Bee"!
In 2012 I created this group, 2014 co-founded ASHAC, 2016 created "The Small Home Center LLC". (It's my passion!) I'm a project manager, designer and more that wants to make a difference via beautiful sustainable small homes and the ethos behind it.
This amazing group of creative minds never ceases to amaze me. There are truly a lot of big hearts and inspiration to make the world a better place.
