=====================================

Together with Texans for Accountable Government, we proudly present our first annual Catalyst 730: Capitol Training Day, a full day of educational sessions, discussion and dialogue designed to teach you everything you need to know to take an active role in Texas’ legislative process.

What’s in a name?

cat·a·lyst [kat-l-ist]

  1. something that causes activity between two or more persons or forces without itself being affected.
  2. a person or thing that precipitates an event or change
  3. a person whose talk, enthusiasm, or energy causes others to be more friendly, enthusiastic, or energetic.

730 [sev-uhn-thur-tee]

The number of days in a biennium. The business and budget of Texas government is planned two years at a time. While the Texas legislature only meets every two years for 140 days, if we are to be effective catalysts in Austin we must be engaging lawmakers and working on good policy throughout the entire biennium, 730 days.

We founded We Texans in 2010 as a nonprofit and nonpartisan public policy organization whose goal is to protect liberty, justice & integrity in Texas through activism and education. As an extension of this mission, we created Catalyst 730. In this year’s program, four sessions of content will cover everything you need to know about how to become active in the legislative process in Austin.

This event is free and open to the public but space is limited. So mark your calendars and plan to join us in Austin on Saturday, December 8. If you’re traveling from out of town, be sure to check out MegaBus for transportation options starting as low as $1 each way.

We hope to see you at the Catalyst 730 this year! Online registration coming soon!
