The main problem I have (apart from waste and massive fraud) is that company paid for private insurance and Medicare / Medicaid have vastly driven up the cost of services, resulted in providers providing wasteful unnecessary services, so that out health care costs are about 40% over what they should be -far more than we can afford, and at rates which make us uncompetitive. I feel that way about public pensions - I know far too many public employees who are overpaid, wasteful and lazy and with bloated pensions, far higher than they should be if they were based on merit and value given to society. That is the problem I have with unions and collective bargaining.

Sean they are entitled to everything they need? Surely you are joking. Why should the elderly get way more in benefits than they put into the system? and shouldn't a socialist system like medicare be wound or does it have to burden us forever?

Your comment is detestable and disgusting. Where is your humanity for your fellow man? I assume your for death panels too. Americans pay into Medicare their entire working lives and are entitled to receive everything they need. Medicare is not Medicaid. Not to mention all the bs regulations put on doctors and hospitals which, increase costs exponentially. Then you have the lack of tort reform which, again increases costs of their malpractice insurance and a myriad of other expenses.
Essentially you want to punish the folks that paid for a service with death. When their government destroyed the delivery of medicine by getting in between the producer and the consumer. High health care costs are due to big brother and the mess he has created under the auspices of protection. All government ever does is reduce efficiency and hinder production.

A lot of good targets for the freedom movement. My favorite is shrinking Medicare because the costs are exploding and so much money goes to people with a few months to live.

I agree, increase producers and remove the non-productive government suckers. The non-productive government is a big fat tax on the producers. Regulations by their nature reduce productivity taking labor away from productive pursuits.

Right on Sean -get rid of crony capitalism, and it's effects like outrageous overpriced healthcare costs, outrageous overpriced broken education, excessive taxation at all levels of government, outrageous overpaid government workers -too many of which do little or nothing, and whose job it is too protect big business monopolies by strangling and destroying small businesses through excessive, destructive regulation --get rid of these costs, and perhaps we could afford a little austerity. For now, too many Americans can barely get by, are saddled with overwhelming debt, as the last 20 years have a seen a return to feudalism with wage increases being replaced by credit limit increases, as the speculator ruling class gets obscenely richer exporting our jobs overseas and financial speculation. This country is heading towards an Arab Spring and riots in the streets if the blood sucking class of elites does not ease up from their predator vulture capitalistic practices which like the great vampire squid Goldman Sachs, are sucking the lifeblood out of humanity. When the elites destroy jobs, capital, savings and opportunity, the alternative is too often crime or welfare or starvation. If the elites will quit destroying freedom and capitalism, the 47% will have a better opportunity to make an honest living.

Instead of focusing on a austerity agenda focus your attention to our trade policy to increase our producers here in America. Having more folks paying into the system is the best solution in the long term period... Sacrificing Americans living standards in lieu of addressing the root, the so called free trade that is anything but free.
While your at it in your next campaign embrace liberty and your party may have a chance to win. This is all the party leaders failed calculus.

Shirley, I believe last tuesday night America became ancient Rome. The people on entitlements now or will very soon outnumber the folks paying the entitlements(tax Payers). And like Rome taxes will have to be constantly increased to pay for these people. And just like in Rome when our tax rate is through the roof and we go off that cliff Christians will revolt. It will be a hard and bloody battle i fear but Christians win in the end. I just wonder where "BRUTUS" is today! lol

I agree...the Republican Party got what it deserved, but ...... I just hope that Obama does not take our freedoms and ruin our economy even more that You guys do Not have to take to the street (I’m too old) to HAVE the chance to accomplish the good that we have all worked for.
Now that Romney is gone we can focus on our real agenda, liberty, freedom & justice for all. I know, some of you can't see it right now, but Obama for four more is better than the possibility of Romney for eight. We have to stay vigilant and fight for our liberty. The Republican party got what they deserved. They disenfranchised the liberty movement out of the race and lost because of it. Many will not see this as a victory but it is. The establishment made a large miscalculation, they thought they could get us to line up behind their neocon puppet. However, they now know we won't budge and get behind their bullshit candidates who don't meet our standards.
After the next four years of Obama and the Democrats, they will be shown as inept big government frauds. The Republicans party had better get inline with liberty or parish.
