I suggest forwarding this to your Republican Party SREC committeeman and committeewoman.  It asks them to put the Republican Party of Texas on record as saying NO to calling for a constitutional convention (aka Con-Con) to rewrite and replace the US Constitution.

Friends-

Please review the message below, asking SREC members to oppose a con-con.  The SREC members apparently have considerable influence with Republican reps.  This is one more tool, provided by Shirley Spellerberg in north Texas.  According to Mrs. Spellerberg, the Committee meets this weekend, so should be contacted immediately.

Please contact your local SREC member, and send this also to your rep and senator.  You can find your SREC member here:  http://www.texasgop.org/state-republican-executive-committee

Please contact your SREC members and State Rep and Senator in support of this Resolution that has been submitted to the SREC members who meet this coming weekend.
Thanks,

Subject: Resolution Opposing a Constitutional Convention for SREC consideration

Dear Members of the Texas State Republican Executive Committee,

I am asking you to call for adoption of the following resolution in the upcoming SREC meeting and that you personally contact your State Rep and Senator to oppose any legislation calling for a ConCon for any reason, however well-intended. No Constitutional Convention in this day of little understanding of the Constitution ,with  political chaos and a liberal media, is worth risking the loss of our God-given liberty protected under the original constitution. Please oppose this rush to disaster.

Thank you,
Shirley Spellerberg, former member of the SREC Resolutions Committee and six times a member of the RPT Platform Committee.
