Texas Liberty Campaign - DFW Message Board › URGENT ACTION REQUIRED RE PROPOSED LAST-MINUTE RPT RULES CHANGE!
|A former member||
I have gone to the trouble of copying the email address of every SREC committeeman and woman in Texas, including the Chairman and Vice Chairman, and sending the following email, and I urge you, if you have about 2 minutes to spare, please use the following email list to also contact them to urge them to vote 'NO' to the last-minute proposal to make Texas a 'Winner-Take-All' state, as this could also lead to a change in our delegates' binding at the RNC, negating all our efforts to send Ron Paul supporters to the RNC! See below email and 'TO' list, and feel free to change up the wording, as I am new to this and you may have more experience. Since sending the email about 5 minutes ago, I have already received TWO favorable responses! Let's get a few more!

Please vote ‘NO’ to the proposed last minute SREC rules change to designate Texas a ‘winner take all’ state.
The proposal is unfounded at this late date, and can only be construed as an attempt to manipulate the outcome of our State Convention, silencing the voices of up to approximately 10,269,872 Texans. That is approximately equivalent to the population of our 10 smallest states plus Washington, DC! Would we also tell every person in Alaska, Delaware, DC, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming, “Sorry, we won’t be counting your vote this year”?
Just because the electoral college determines the presidency through winner-take-all, doesn’t mean it’s best to round the votes up to that point. The system works best if we take as many as possible individual thoughts, opinions, and beliefs into account on the smaller scales while the numbers are still manageable. It’s basic math. Add 6.6 and 7.5 and the rounded sum is 14. Round them 1st and you get 15. It’s not only bad math, it’s a lie.
Texas will be relevant at the RNC, only if ALL our voices are heard, and the portions of our population who prefer specific candidates, are accurately reflected.
I appreciate your time and consideration.
