Thanks Matt, it was nice to go over the fundamentals and practice them. Lots of fun with other mountain bikers messing around and enjoying playing on our bikes.

Matt organized a fine clinic to help us amateur MTB enthusiasts. I came away with new goals on riding. The points made on cornering, posture, braking, balance and actual application were definitely worthwhile. Looking forward to the next clinic.

Was excellent, learned a good deal, Matt did a wonderful job teaching us the basics, I believe this was a very beneficial event, would love to see more of these skills clinics, but maybe ones that focus on MTB skills in general, and not to put everyone in a box labeled beginners only etc... there was a few questions that were considered "intermediate" that some of those "beginners" wanted answered or practiced... I'm just not a fan of labels I guess... anyway, was a great time! well done TORC and great job Matt and Kevin for sharing and teaching the group!

Hey John, I think you mean to try the Intermediate clinic on May 12th. They were trying to keep the two clinics separate due to the numbers. I mentioned this in reply but it has disappeared, so if you're getting this twice, my apologies.

Awesome time. Matt did a GREAT job at teaching and he should really look into honing his skills in the teaching area cause he is a natural. I liked the fact that no question was a dumb question...THANK YOU MATT.

@Jennifer, I will keep talking with Matt and see how his schedule may allow him to do more future clinics.
@Isabel, not quite sure how long the clinic will last.

Does everybody that rsvp'd know that this is a beginner specific event? If looking for more intermediate skills practice, check out the event at LCCP on the 12th.

well, I don't consider myself beginner but after riding with yal I feel like a total n00b so I figure I would try the beginner class first. Still time to sign up for the other one after. Can't hurt to sit through the basics again.

Looks good. I suspect there are 2-3 that won't show up despite their rsvp. We'll have a good time Sunday.

Anyone interested in this lesson I have another one scheduled for the 12th that will be an intermediate level.

    April 16, 2013

    • Matt F.

That would be the goal but all intermediate riders are welcome at the beginner clinic

      April 17, 2013

    • David H.

I would like it to be only beginners. That way the group will be a little smaller and Matt and those that help him will be better able to focus on the skill trng. Matt is willing to provide more skills trng depending on his schedule so let's spread out into groups based on skill level\experience.

Will there be more events like this one? Will have to leave early if I'm able to make it at all.

We'll have another one that will be on a weekend and combined with another event...maybe some sponsors. This first one is more of a casual week day event.

yes, the weekend would be better

Just a suggestion, check out the 5 skills videos James Wilson presents here:, yes you do have to sign up for his newsletter (I like it) and get the password but the 5 videos are really, really good and probably useful to see before you even do a clinic. It pretty much reinforces what they teach you in the clinic but it's free.
