Workday at North Wake Landfill District Park

More details will be coming soon.  For now, TORC is looking to see if there are schools or scouts or other organizations near the park that would be interested in helping with the workday.  TORC can provide the expertise and the tools, but we could use some help rounding up volunteers.

Hi Ryan, the initial focus is on some maintenance. Once we can get a good core group of people in place caring for the trail I do know that Chip met with the ranger and there is some room for expansion.

Great, thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing what the trail is like. Longer would certainly be welcome.

Hey Guys, I am very curious about this trail as it is only 12 minutes from my house. Is the plan to run maintenance on the existing trail or to extend it? Either way I would love help since I do believe in maintaining the trails I would like to ride. Pending family obligations, I will be there.

The North Wake Landfill Park is not one of the areas biggest parks with only about ~3 miles of trail. Still, TORC's involvement in this park can provide a great way for local folks to get that quick workweek ride in. Also, working with the county park folk here is a great way to build relationships that could help us with other trail projects. Please come out and help.
