Thanks for checking out this Meetup Description!
Due to interest and demand in conducting Seminars and Skills Clinics for Mountain Bike Riders in the Triangle, TORC and The Bicycle Chain of Durham have combined efforts to conduct this event.
This event will be comprised of an "In Class" Seminar and a subsequent "Hands On" Skills Clinic at Lake Crabtree County Park.
Specifically, the program will involve an “In-Store Clinic” segment, approx. 1.5 hours long, that will be conducted at The Bicycle Chain, Durham. Topics covered will include: 1) Why Mountain Bike, 2) What Equipment Will I Need, 3) What Gear Will I Need, 4) Basic Riding Skills & Fundamentals, 5) IMBA’s Rules of the Trails, 6) Trail Etiquette, 7) Trails in the Triangle Area, etc…
RSVP's will be limited to and fulfilled on a "First-Come, First-Served" Basis.
PLEASE bring camp chairs and the "beverages" of your choice for the event. The Bicycle Chain of Durham has graciously decided to provide light appetizers and water. Bring whatever else you would like to have to eat or drink, "Brown Bag Lunch/Dinner" style. The presentation will involve a PowerPoint Presentation with handouts and a "Hands On" component where we will actually show the equipment and gear that we are discussing, ("Show & Tell"). Likewise, The Bicycle Chain of Durham will be offering a discount on purchases of specific items made that night, at the Event!!! Therefore, Bring Your Cash Stack (Credit Cards, too!!!) Also, The Bicycle Chain of Durham will conduct a Raffle for various Gifts at the conclusion of the event.
The Store closes for Normal Business at 07:00 p.m. and we will be meeting at the store during "After Store" hours with the Clinic Beginning at 07:15 p.m.
Please feel free to email me via Meetup if you have any questions or need more information.
