TORC Casual/Social Ride at North Wake Landfill Park

I'm just looking to get out and break up my day a bit so that I don't spend all of it watching college football.  If you are in N. Raleigh and are interested in a low key relaxed pace no drop ride come on out.

The Park/Trail:  The North Wake Landfill Park has a little over 2 miles of beginner/lower level intermediate single track trail.  There is also a really nice skills section and a double track trail to the top of Mt. Trashmore (the old capped landfill) that has a nice view of downtown Raleigh.  A map can be found on page 2 of the park brochure.  Nearby Durant Nature Park also has about 2 miles of trail.

Skill Level: Beginner friendly, all skills, no drop ride.

The Ride:  We'll make at least one pass through all of the single track.  We could then spend some time in the skills section and/or climb to the top of Mt Trashmore.  If anyone wants to ride more we can ride over to Durant Nature Park and ride the trails there.  The two parks can be connected by 3 miles each way of greenway (Simms Branch and Abbotts Creek Trails) and a little bit of riding on side streets (or sidewalks).

Distance: ~5-12 miles depending on what the group wants.

Time spent riding: 1-1.5 hours.

Cool pics! It's been so long since I've been there, I'd forgotten how fun it is!

No problem. I rode there a couple weeks ago. That was my second time riding there after going out there once last year. Yesterday I went back and also rode over to Durant Nature Park to check out the trails there. I thought some combination of the two might make for a good laid back Saturday afternoon ride.
