Revised results are up with a few fixes for Stranix, Bobby, and Justin's trio team.

Sorry for the earlier mixups folks - we had a few missed chip reads that didn't get caught the day of the race. Next time I'll be sure to announce the formal review/protest period at the end of the race! For now I'm calling it case closed on this years results ;-)

    Good info! Thanks

Hi Ray - the chip needs to go on your left ankle. On the ankle so it's as low to the ground as possible (nearer the timing mats), and on the left side to minimize chance of getting caught up in your drivetrain. The chip timing systems are very proximity sensitive - and having the chip close to the mat as you pass over it is important. I realized after the start that I forgot to go over this in the pre-race meeting. I've made a note for future races to make sure we cover this with everyone.

The race was an absolute blast. This was my first mtb race - what agonizing fun! I'll definitely come back for more. Rigid SS - what else matters ...

Hey everyone. This was my second race ever and my first long one and it seems I didn't use the time chip correctly. Laps 3 - 6 were combined into two laps giving me a total of five instead of 7. Is this because I didn't position the tag correctly? Is there a preferred place for it? I attached it to the bottom crossbar of my bike near my water bottle cage with the chip exposed on the left side. Thanks. It was a good time no matter, but I thought someone might be able to advise some new people.

What a great day, fantastic race, great trail system & great day with riding friends...Loved the Briar Chapel climbs & technical rocky sections, up until that painful 9th lap! Big thanks to TORC, Briar Chapel, Dave A and all of the volunteers, especially the encouraging folks manning halloween water stop atop double track climb. They refilled my empty water bottles several times, stocked me with gels and constantly, enthusiastically encouraged all weary racers!

    :D They go so fast!

    See you in the Am!

    October 15, 2010

  • Dave A.

Damon - good question - all categories will start together at 11 AM.

    October 14, 2010

  • Damon M.

David - This may be a silly question, but will the 3hr category kick off at 11am along with the 6hr categories, or will it start at 2pm in order to sync up the finish?

    October 14, 2010

  • David H.

Chris, it's pretty easy. When you sign up for the race on Meetup you will be given the chance to use paypal to pre-pay for the race. 3 of you equals $105. Have your buds pay you before or after and include their names for Dave Anderson in your comments.

Is there any racer who lives in the North Raleigh or downtown Raleigh area and is doing this race who would like to be interviewed for the North Raleigh News or Midtown Raleigh News? A local reporter would like to do a story on mountain bike racing in the Triangle. If interested, please send me a message or post to this thread. --Pete Pawelski

Wendy--the kids ride will probably be a younger kids race at noon. Probably around a circle or some cones.
