TORC LCCP "Fat / Out Of Shape Guy (and Gal!)" Ride (Slow ride, all skill levels)

TORC LCCP "Fat / Out Of Shape Guy (and Gal!)" Ride (Slow ride, all skill levels)

Ride leader: Debbie

Schedule: Every Saturday morning (weather and external factors permitting)

Time: Meet at 12:30pm

Directions and trail info: We will meet IN Lake Crabtree County Park, at the LAST parking lot.

Type of ride: All skills, no drop

Speed: expect to average about 5mph, depending on the group. No one will be dropped.

Distance: between 7-10 miles

Time spent riding: 1.5 - 2 hours (longer depending on the group)

Difficulty: Lake Crabtree is one of the easiest trails to ride with ride arounds for all obstacles.

Details: No-drop ride for ALL Skill Levels / Riders. Looking for a nice, slow, low-pressure group
ride as you work your way back into shape after a layoff, or as you get started with MTB'ing?
Here ya go.. We'll ride a big chunk of the LCCP trails, depending on how people feel. No one will be left behind (not for long anyway), we'll stop and rest as often as people need, and generally have a good time, get some exercise, and enjoy ourselves.

Weather permitting, of course.

Call or email Phil at[masked] or [masked] for more details.

Lake Crabtree County Park is a great location for rides. Expect easy to slightly moderate elevation changes. All trail obstacles have ride a rounds. Pace will be dependent on the experience and skill levels of the attendees, but I'm expecting an average speed of probably 5mph or so.

You MUST wear a helmet while riding on the trails. Make sure you have plenty of water.

Sorry, I wasn't clear in my comment. I didn't show up looking for the group at 10:30am. I couldn't make 10:30 and had always planned to ride alone later in the afternoon. I ended up riding around 3pm but would have come out and rode with the group at 12:30 had I seen the time change. Wasn't trying to give you all a hard time or anything.

Got ya. And I certainly didn't think you were giving us a hard time. :-). Too bad you couldn't join us!

Sorry Rich and Anthony. We needed to make a change, rather than cancel the ride altogether. We tried to let everyone know, but inevitably, the news never reaches everyone. Sorry about that. The ride will be at the regular time & place for upcoming rides, though. Have fun and hope to see you on a future ride!

I also must have gotten time and place wrong. Took a nice ride. See you next time.

Wish I would have seen the time change. I would have come out. I ended up riding Crabtree by myself this afternoon.

One last reminder...this ride has changed to 12:30 pm and the meeting place is in Crabtree in the last parking lot near the boat ramp. Look for the white Subaru Outback. I hope all of you can still make it!

OK, Debbie. If you don't mind leading a ride, I'll move the start time back and let you take the reigns tomorrow. It would be much appreciated, as I'd hate to cancel the ride outright. Would making the start-time 12:30 work for you? Or even a little later, to give you time to transition from your other event, to this?

Thanks for offering to lead this, Debbie. It would have been a shame to cancel the ride. You rock. :-)

My pleasure. :-). Hopefully it works out well. There are always some that miss the change. I like that you're offering this ride weekly, so I'm happy to help it happen.

Phillip, I have an event (TFKT) from 10 am to 12:15 at Crabtree. Hopefully someone can/or is able to step up to lead the ride. If you get no takers, and if the group is willing to start 2 hours later, I'll be happy to lead.

Hey guys, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it tomorrow. Would anyone else who knows their way around at LCCP like to step in and lead the show tomorrow? If not, I'll cancel the meetup... although, of course, you are all free to meet and ride if you want. But I'd hate for a first-timer to show up and not find anyone there who can show them around.
