Vegetarian? Vegan? Curious to try vegetarianism? You've come to the right place! We are a social group for people following or interested in following a vegetarian, vegan or raw vegan diet. Join us at as many or as few events as you like!
Do I need to be a vegetarian to join? Whether you are a seasoned veg-head, beginner or just looking to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, you are welcome here. All we ask is that you be open-minded and respectful. Everyone has different reasons for becoming vegetarian or vegan, this is what makes our group colourful and unique.
Attendance Policy: As volunteer organizers, we devote a lot of personal time to keeping this group fun and active. In turn we ask all those who attend our events to follow these simple rules:
1. If you sign up, Show Up! Any event that you've RSVPed 'Yes' for is one we are expecting you at.
2. We ask for minimum 24hrs notice before the event if you are cancelling your RSVP. If you are giving less notice than that, you must contact an organizer via email to alert them of your cancellation. Failure to do so may result in removal from the group. When it doubt, just email us to let us know what's going on. It's the polite thing to do!
3. Please, don't show up to events you are not signed up for! Yes, we're that popular that we actually get 'party crashers' from time to time.
4. If you are attending with a +1, please keep in mind you are responsible for this person's attendance.
If you can't follow these simple rules, you will be removed from the group at the discretion of the organizer. Strong attendance is the key to success for our group!
Do you have to pay to attend? There are no fees associated with joining our meetup. We ask all members attending an event to make a $2 donation to be given to a charity benefitting animals in the local community. So far, we have given to the Toronto Humane Society, Snooters Farm Sanctuary and Toronto Wildlife Centre, very worthy groups working to help animals in the GTA.
NOTE: Click on our sponsor's link www.MettaMeals.com because they're awesome and they help us fund the group.
