We meet once a month and began in October 2006.
Our group is based on Julia Cameron's work, especially The Artist's Way. She also has several other related books including Vein of Gold, Walking In This World, Money Drunk / Money Sober and The Artist's Way at Work. Each of these books are 12 week programs that help to recover the artist within, breaking down creative blocks.
At the end of each book she refers to Creative Clusters or circles if you will. The mission of these Creative Clusters is to be "believing mirrors" for each other on the journey that the Artist's Way provides. It's easy to read these books but difficult to 'complete' the exercises in their entirety because we quickly stop believing in the good that awaits. That is the trick. No matter how simple or small the exercises, I have been often surprised at the results of what I thought at first was stupid or silly. Such is the strength of the "inner critic" and the "perfectionist".
It's interesting that after you complete this program how your attitude towards children changes, expands. And on a practical note, you will be amazed at the results in your work and your life.
