The Writing Diet - Write Yourself Right-size by Julia Cameron

Join a 10 week support group to study the book The Writing Diet - Write Yourself Right-size by Julia Cameron. We will meet Saturday at 3:30 until 5:30 at the Starbucks near Runnymede and Bloor. The first of 10 meetings will be on Saturday January 12, 2013. The last meeting will be on Saturday March 16.

From the book: "Experts agree: often we choose to eat not because we are hungry, but because we are bored, sad, frustrated, or else we are happy and in the mood to celebrate with treats. In other words, emotions can drive us to overeat. But what if instead of turning to food, we could identify those underlying feelings and express them in a healthy, positive way? What if, in doing so, we could also increase our creativity, get in touch with our authentic selves, and discover our true artistic abilities? In her new book THE WRITING DIET: Write Yourself Right-Size, artist and bestselling creativity mentor JULIA CAMERON promises just that."
This book is aimed at food and eating problems but might be of help with other addictions too.

Hi Evelyn, So much that was shared was inspiring for me. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend anymore of this meet-up - as I now work on Saturdays - until May - but I intent to re-involve myself after that point. Good luck everyone!

    Is there a cost?

    January 6, 2013

    • Evelyn

There is no cost. It helps to buy the book and bring it with you. You can get it first at the library until you can buy one. We buy a tea or coffee but you don't have to. Bring water or a snack if you want.

You don't need to read the book for the first meeting. The first meeting will be mostly introductions and explanations about Julia Cameron, her books and things like Morning Pages.

This is one of her newer books and no one in the group has done it yet. We will work out how much to do as we go along. If you don't get the book on time you can share with the person next to you. There are 17 copies of the book in the library and 12 are available right now.
